Combining stealth, tactics and gameplay into one portable gameplay experience comes SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike from Slant Six, and we have two new videos of the game in action on the Sony PlayStation Portable. While intense and twitchy firefights may not be the most suitable environment for a chess-like game of strategy, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike makes it work, although you may find some of the game's sections a bit hard to swallow.

These two videos, titled Garage and Grenade Gameplay, shows off the game's main aspect - that is, combat - in full force, both in closed quarters and in open fields respectively. The graphics are looking very solid, and the way you're able to position your characters to achieve the best possible kill angle is pretty sweet. SOCOM fan or not, if you want some tactical shooter gameplay on the go, then SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike is right up your alley.

Enjoy the videos!

Slant Six Games' SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike - Image 1Now that Slant Six Games' SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike for the Sony PlayStation Portable is coming in a few days, all that's left is to sit back, wait for the release, and maybe ogle at these new screenshots to pass the time. We've seen videos of the game in action, but more screens never hurt.

This latest bundle of shots taken from SOCOM's third installment for the PSP show more of the action-packed squad-based title. The group of SEAL operatives are sneaking around forested areas as usual, while some of the images are set in the game's urban backdrops. It's no secret that SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike looks pretty sweet, especially for one on the Sony handheld.

Slant Six Games' SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Tactical Strike has gone gold not long ago, and it should be available from your favorite retailer this November 6. We'll be leaving you with these screenshots for now, but stay tuned for any updates!

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike - Image 1

Developer Slant Six Games just announced that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike has gone gold and is ready for shipment. The third installment of SOCOM on the Sony PlayStation Portable is slated for release this November 6 in North America, while Europe should get the game at a later date.

Design Director David Seymour mentioned on the blog post with the announcement that eight additional international Special Forces will be playable in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike. Players will have access to the British SAS, the Australian SAS-R, or the Korean 707th Special Missions Battalion with authentic uniforms and weaponry intact.

Multiplayer which involves up to four players in 2-on-2 skirmishers is possible at T-mobile WiFi Hotspots. It's fortunate that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike offers a voice chat feature, because you'll be needing some good team play and wits to achieve goals when you hook up with other operatives.

SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals: Tactical Strike - Image 1If you're a big SOCOM series fan and you're a Sony PlayStation Portable owner, you'll be glad to know that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Tactical Strike is closing in with a nice mix of old and new. Slant Six Games has taken over the development reins from where Zipper Interactive left off and it's bringing back old series hero KAHUNA for some nostalgic treats.

The sad news is that you'll only be able to see KAHUNA but he won't be playable. No matter. You're in charge of four bad-ass SEALS anyway and you'll be tasked with some of the most dangerous missions that only the best of the best can handle in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Tactical Strike.

These screens and box art show some of the game's nice eye candy. Expect more action that ever when SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Tactical Strike finally ships. We'll keep you posted for more.

12 intense SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike screenshots - Image 1

Slant Six Games and Sony Computer Entertainment's SOCOM: U.S. Seals Tactical Strike looks pretty sweet. As the third handheld game in the SOCOM series, it looks to continue the tradition of its predecessors with the same brand of tactical, squad-based combat that captured the attention of PSP owners.

The game will have you commanding four soldiers, split into two man teams. As is standard for games such as this, you will be able to give commands to both teams, individual soldiers, or all four men at once. Not much is known about the story, but it has been confirmed that the main character of the first SOCOM, KAHUNA, will be making an appearance in the game. It's unlikely that he will be a playable character, but one can always hope.

Slated to be out this October 2 in the US, this is a must-have for fans of the series. While waiting for the game to be released, why not check out some screenshots of the game?

A ton of info about the latest tactical shooter for the PlayStation Portable, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike headed your way in this developer interview video update - as well as a big payload of screenshots guaranteed to get that blood going and your trigger fingers twitching. We get you all the juicy details and the eye candy before you can say "Tango Down."

In this developer interview with Slant Six's Dave Seymour, the design director responsible for the game's look and feel, we find out just what went into the series' third entry for the PSP, and how they decided to give the game's unique tactical flavor and direction. We also get a hint of just how long the game would be, and suffice to say playing at the easiest difficulty would have us occupied for ten hours at most.

Of course, it lengthens dramatically when we move on to the more challenging difficulties - and unlocking a secret mode for the game requires us to beat the hardest difficulty. Ouch.

Certainly a refreshing take on the SOCOM series. Updates as we get them, and in the meantime enjoy the video and screenshots!

There's nothing better than a well thought-out plan coming together perfectly - with that plan being your enemies reduced to lifeless heaps of downed Tango meat, and your attack team coming away intact and with nary a flesh wound.

And with SOCOM: Tactical Strike's combat system, it's made more easier done THAN said - and that's saying something. We see some very nifty footage of exactly that in action with this video update of Slant Six's latest title for the PSP.

In these videos, we get to see just how easy it is - as well as how fun - to coordinate very cool-looking synchronized attacks among the members of your attack squad, with the results quite satisfying. Whether it's in the cover of darkness or in broad daylight, in forested areas or in urban, all Tangos are fair game as you use the intuitive attack menu system to coordinate firefights, sniper pick-offs and door breaches. Very awesome.

Sometimes, having three friends with you makes a job relatively easy. Especially when you're in a place chock-full of hostile enemies. This holds true in tactical shooter video games like Slant Six Games and SCE' SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike. We've got a video today that shows exactly how teamwork works in getting rid of enemies more efficiently.

The video, called "Streets", features the team going into La Mano's stronghold to rescue a hostage. We see the stealth and teamwork elements of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike. Also, we get a sneak peek of the possible tactics to take when fighting in narrow streets. Hmm... Come to think about it, when you sneak around just right, the poor bast- er... enemies won't stand a chance.

Anyway, we'll leave you to check out the video. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) is set to storm the shelves around October so better watch out. Enjoy the vid!

When it comes to SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike being a real-time strategy game instead of being a shooter, developer Slant Six has already explained themselves. So to those who are still complaining about the shift, just think of it as a new directive from your field commander.

The gameplay of Tactical Strike is chiefly divided into two stages: setup and execution. To ensure a successful mission, you must first take advantage of the given terrain and command your troops to go to strategic positions. Aside from this, you should also be able to exploit in-game items and weaponry.

Below, you can watch another gameplay video called "Helo" in case you're still a bit confused about this style of play. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike will ship to North American retail stores in October.

An IGN video interview with Seth Luisi, Senior Producer of Slant Six's SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike, revealed that despite the PSP game's third person shooter presentation, Tactical Strike is really more of a real-time strategy game at its core.

In the video, Luisi talks about gameplay, from controlling multiple units to take advantage of terrain, to using items and weaponry to accompish mission objectives. He also notes some of the nuances of multiplayer gaming for this SOCOM title, as you can engage in 2-on-2 team-based multiplayer and complete objectives in a variety of game types.

Luisi also mentions SOCOM: Confrontation and says that, this time round, they're trying to make the game an "intimate" 32 player team-based game. He expounds by saying that instead of larger maps, the game will focus more on being a high-density and graphically visceral game.

For more information and tidbits on the new SOCOM games, you know where to go, right? Just click on "play"! In the meantime, remember that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike should be available in North America by October 2007.
