While checking the QJ.NET PSP Updates blog for this week's PSP Weekend Warrior something struck me as odd. I couldn't pinpoint it exactly at first but eventually it dawned on me: we didn't see any PSP2 rumors this week! Or any hardware-centric news for that matter. The games have picked up the slack, though, with a couple of new game confirmations and more good news for the retro-minded PSP owners out there. Read on for the rest of the PSP Weekend Warrior!

Of note this week in Europe's PSN update are a handful of downloadable PSP games: LocoRoco and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2 being half of that list. The usual PS3 games get DLC packs again, but if you guys want to give Savage Moon a spin, there's a trial version available.

Here's another one of those video interviews we've been posting for the past couple of days. This time the subject is Slant Six Games' SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALS Fireteam Bravo 3 for the PSP, and the guy answering the questions is producer Michael Kerr. The interview reveals some more details about what's new in Fireteam Bravo 3 along with some gameplay footage.

The PSP faithful are finally seeing what they have hoped for for years: more heavyweight games coming to the Sony PlayStation Portable. For the whole month of April, it seemed as if every week we saw the announcement of another new game coming to the Sony handheld. This week closed April out with a bang, carried mainly by Namco Bandai's powerful one-two punch: PSP versions for popular brawlers Soul Calibur and Tekken 6. Capcom also pitched in, revealing more about Fate/unlimited codes and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Jeff Rubenstein posted earlier today at the PlayStation Blog to announce that he, along with Chris Morell, will be headed to L.A. for SCEA's pre-E3 show. With them is an exciting list of games that will will come in neat, sneak peek packages.

Yesterday's announcement of a brand new SOCOM game for the PSP sure got people worked up. But see, that was all just an announcement riddled in text and press release talk. Today, SCEA backs up all that talk with a teaser trailer for SOCOM US Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo 3.

Not long after John Koller spoke about PSP proliferation, SCEE formally announces another addition to the growing archive of PSP exclusives, SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo 3. BakonICE, NoEffex's homebrew cheat device for SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2, has just been given an upgrade and is now also compatible with Fireteam Bravo 1 thanks to some porting work by computermatt.
