You gotta love this dev 0okm. He has been banged up several times in the comments section and he just bounces back in the scene as if nothing happened. Whether you like him or you don't, you can't deny the fact that this is one talented and promising guy who tried to help out those unlucky TA-082 users via his TA-082 SoftDown downgrader, too bad that he stopped with that project of his. But being the resilient guy that he is, he just went on to do more stuff.Recently, he has unleashed the PSP ButtonHook for FW2.71. Now, he has just released v1.28 of the ButtonHook. The app is basically a button changing application for the PSP, and as always, it is best that you know what you're doing if you're going to use this app, we don't want you to be relying on blind faith as you may cause harm to that precious PSP of yours. It is best that you read the readme file and our previous report on this app. To install this, copy dh/kd/271CtrlP0okm.prx to the MemoryStick

Before anything else, we have to put up a disclaimer. When you mess with your firmware, you stand the chance of bricking your system. Let us repeat that once more: tinkering with firmware versions can render your PSP deader than roadkill. So. 0okm just released a downgrader from 2.50 to 1.50. Yes indeed: 0okm claims to have come up with a 2.50 TA-082 SoftDown downgrader to 1.50. All you 2.60/2.71 users, however, still have to wait. It's time to tread lightly, folks, because 0okm requires people to email their own ISP email, PSP serial number, and FW dump Data. Here's 0okm's statement: if your PSP is FW2.50 TA-082 and you
Q: Why need Trust me ? A: because you need to give me your "ISP email", "PSP Serial Number" and "FW dump DATA". Q: Why can't shared my program to other Ok, so now that you know 0okm's terms, it's going to be up to you to decide. As we said, we have to tread lightly on this. It's pretty sensitive information you're giving out, so it's your call if you want to take up 0okm's offer. If you do agree with the terms, you'd have to email them in so you can find out what to do next. There's more info behind the Read link, so for those who want to pursue this, click below. |

I'm sure all of you TA-082ers have been waiting with bated breath for 0okm's downgrader. And I wouldn't blame you - 1.5 land is magical, if you know what I mean. Well, granted that with the few big news lately, 1.5 is slowly starting to lose its shine to firmware 2.71, you still have to realise that the bulk of homebrew is made for 1.5 and thus, will have a few problems in 2.71. When 0okm's downgrader news spread on the internet, people became restless. A few weeks down the line though, and there's hardly any information from him. Was he successful? Did he run into some problems? Thank 0okm because his latest entry in his blog is a nice update to all his fans: "encounters some difficulties in the programming :( So, there you have it. I bet he's probably finished about 70% of the coding. And I'd trust him to get this thing finished before long. The other good news is that his downgrader will be supported on firmware 2.71. So all you TA-082ers, feel free to update to 2.71! It's got loads of goodies lately and it's where the party could be within the next few months! |

As some 2.71 PSP’s say hello to the world, others will be
saying goodbye at the same time as a downgrader has been released just a few moments ago!! For this one occasion, I grant you permission to jump on your computer’s desk; jumping up and down until you have broken your desk. The reason for such a command is that after you have done it you probably won’t care about the desk, as you have just read that a 2.71 downdater (downgrader) has now been made available! Yes, that’s right – all you 2.71 owners (who do not have a TA-082 motherboard) will be able to downgrade your PSP to firmware 1.50. Get the full details, install instructions, and the download by clicking on "Full Article" below!

Some thought it might be impossible, others simply felt that only God's hands could code a software downgrader for the unfortunate TA-082 people. Well, let's just say that 0okm might have finally broken the shackles imposed by the TA-082 PSPs. Firstly, a small primer for anyone new to the whole TA-082 thing. A while back, before the Undiluted Platinum modchip came out, most people were quite oblivious to the whole mobo-mania. Then it was revealed that the modchip wouldn't work with the TA-082 motherboards. Even Dark_Alex's "downdater" couldn't downgrade 'em. Few people who were brave enough to still try it were greeted by shiny bricks. Here's how you can check if you're one of the unlucky ones to have a TA-082 mobo PSP. The reason was quite unknown. A lot of theories existed, but it was difficult to pinpoint the real problem. Well, we can safely consider it as part of the past now, because 0okm states that he has successfully downgraded a 2.50 TA-082 PSP using a software downgrader. Until now, the only other way to accomplish a downgrade was by using hardware hacks, like 0okm's multi firmware module. Not anymore though, because we might just have a solution for the TA-082 motherboards! Here's what he states in his blog: "Success SoftDown FW2.50 TA-082 to FW1.00/1.50 Well, so the method might take a while and it might be a bit complex. But trust the great programmers to make an easy installation method for everyone to use. 0okm has said that he might release something as a proof of concept. Keep the fireworks ready! |
