With the release of Sony Bend's Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow
coming up fast, Sony has let loose another batch of screenshots from
the game. Before we get to them though, here's a quick backgrounder on
the game.In this follow-up to Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, things are looking pretty grim for Gabe Logan. The IPCA is facing closure due to a failed mission and Gabe's partner Lian Xing has disappeared, leading to suspicion of her being a double agent. Gabe's not gonna leave things as they are, though, so he goes solo to find Lian and retrieve some stolen tech. With that out of the way, let's get back to the screenshots. We've categorized them according to which gameplay mode they're taken from - the game's single-player campaign and the multiplayer mode. Check 'em out below. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow is scheduled for an October 2 release. Check out all the screenshots behind the Full Article link! |

IGN posted a dozen new screenshots of Sony Bend's upcoming Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. The game is looking as impressive as we've seen before, featuring series hero Gabe Logan in action. The premise of Logan's Shadow is simple: The agency he works for gets shut down due to a failed mission where a naval cargo ship gets robbed of important technology. Suspicions are high among the higher-ups and all indications point to Lian Xing, Gabe's long-time partner. Lian Xing mysteriously vanishes, further driving the notion that she's a double agent. Desperate for answers, Gabe sets out on an independent mission to find his friend and secure the lost cargo. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow is a Sony PSP exclusive. Sony Bend's Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow on the PSP has been getting quite a bit of publicity. This sequel to Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror looks to offer more of the same great gameplay and storyline, crafted by none other than Greg Rucka. If you haven't heard of him, Greg Rucka is a writer of comic books and novels known for his work on Atticus Kodiak, the DC Checkmate series, Adventures of Superman and Wonder Woman, as well as a few runs with Marvel's Wolverine, and Elektra. He had quite a few things to say on the game as well as the themes that it explores: We [the developers and himself] tried to put something that I love in my videogames into it, which was some emotional investment -- that you cared about what was going on. That there was a reason that you gave a damn about what Gabe (the main character of the game) was doing. If you're familiar with Syphon Filter, you'll probably know that espionage plays a very important part to its storyline and gameplay. Rucka touched on this subject and how he would like it to be tackled in Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. He noted the deeper implications of espionage and it being a tool used by governments: It's all a question of how espionage is actually a tool of politics. Espionage doesn't exist in a vacuum. So that, and again talking about the relationship that Gabe had with the other characters, was how we ended up where we were. With genius Rucka calling the shots, the game appears to be developing a very interesting and engaging storyline. Will it live up to the high bar its predecessors have set before it? We'll have to wait and see. If you want to read the full interview, click on our read link. |
