SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 - Image 1A bunch of people over at the PSPCube forums have reportedly gotten their hands on SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2's patch 1.4 before it has been officially released.

The unreleased patch was apparently found on Sony's servers, where it was downloaded and leaked. A video of the patch waits in the full article.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike - Image 1

Developer Slant Six Games just announced that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike has gone gold and is ready for shipment. The third installment of SOCOM on the Sony PlayStation Portable is slated for release this November 6 in North America, while Europe should get the game at a later date.

Design Director David Seymour mentioned on the blog post with the announcement that eight additional international Special Forces will be playable in SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike. Players will have access to the British SAS, the Australian SAS-R, or the Korean 707th Special Missions Battalion with authentic uniforms and weaponry intact.

Multiplayer which involves up to four players in 2-on-2 skirmishers is possible at T-mobile WiFi Hotspots. It's fortunate that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Tactical Strike offers a voice chat feature, because you'll be needing some good team play and wits to achieve goals when you hook up with other operatives.

PSP wireless internet - Image 1PSP gamers interested in getting free hotspot Wi-Fi service are in luck. Sony and T-Mobile teaming up to provide PSP owners with free internet connection through your nearest T-Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.

This offer is similar to Taiwan's free wireless internet access for PSP users last year. There's no special requirement needed, except for upgrading your PSP to the latest firmware update.

After updating the PSP's firmware, all you need to do is to go to the nearest T-Mobile hotspot and select the "Use Wireless Hotspot" option in your PSP's menu. Just follow the instructions, and you're connected and ready to go play online matches or just browse the internet through your PSP.

PSP hotspot - Image 1As you've probably heard, Sony released firmware 3.30 yesterday in the latest of their attempts to add new features to the PSP, and in turn keep up with the homebrew hackers.

One of these new features was the "Use Wireless Hotspot" option under the PSP Settings menu. In Sony's latest ploy to convert more people to the do the evil upgrade which prevents access to homebrew games and custom firmwares, it sat down with cellphone operator T-Mobile to get free Wi-Fi for 3.30 PSP users.

All you have to do is use the T-Mobile Hotspot locator and find the nearest Hotspot, go there, and select the "Use Wireless Hostpot" option in the settings menu. T-Mobile HotSpots can be found in quite a lot of places like Starbucks coffeehouses, Borders Books & Music stores, FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Centers, and more.

The free Wi-Fi promotion runs for six months, however as we said yesterday, be wary about upgrading your PSP's firmware. It is possible that you could go for a very long time without homebrew or custom firmware.
