It's been a while since we've heard of any industry-related job cuts, and for some time back there, it looked like everything was getting back on the right track. Then we get this. Square Enix Japan is being rumored to be getting ready to bring down the axe on some 200 to 300 jobs in their company.

Look what we have here: a Darius Burst scan leaked on Famitsu? Could this mean that it's coming to the PSP? According to the scan, that would be a yes. Scan and details after the jump.

This might be the cutest entry to Scenery Beta 2008 yet. Called Chickey Chick, the game was inspired from the classic New Zealand Story from Taito, which was adorable. Chickey Chick is a platform game where you have to guide a chick through level after level of dangerous enemies. Details in the full article.

Square Enix has just released their planned game line-up for this year's E3. While Final Fantasy XIII didn't pop up anywhere in the list, Square's PR indicates that the PSP's two Star Ocean titles are due for an English port. Details are available in the full article.

Videogame remakes have always been hit-or-miss. True, the core gameplay of the original may be evident, but oftentimes things get changed to the point that the end product is barely recognizable and alienates itself from its root material.
