Portal 117

TCLCloud, a well-known flash developer for the PSP, has released a new version of his Portal 117 web browser portal package for the PSP. This portal contains games, applications, RSS Channels, videos, demos and more - including the amazing Portal 117 Live, which provides a constantly updated list of new wallpapers and downloads from the Portal 117 website.

All you need is firmware 2.0 or higher to use this portal as it utilizes the PSP's built-in browser although version 2.80 is recommended for full functionality. Remember, though, if you are running Dark_Alex's 2.71 SE firmware or emulated firmware in DevHook, you can still use it. Here's a quick look at what you can expect from this portal:
  • 95 Games
  • 25 Applications
  • Flash Cartoons
  • All demos directly downloadable
  • Video Downloads
  • 75+ wallpaper downloads
  • 35+ RSS Channels video and audio
  • 20+ Links on Links Page
  • Portal 117 Live
That's over double the amount of games you could find in the last release. This just keeps getting better! Install this portal simply placing the unzipped Portal 117 Folder in "D:PSPCOMMON" and typing "file:/psp/common/portal117/portal117.htm" into your PSP browser. If you like Portal 117 and would like to set it as a bookmark or your homepage, then feel free to do so! The download archive is a little on the large size at 18MB, and weighs in at about 22Mb unzipped, but if you have the space on your memory stick it's well worth the download.

Portal 117 v1.1

TCLCloud just released Portal 117 v1.1, and it sure is loaded with oodles of goodies. The dev says that his new PSP portal should work for those who have firmware 2.00 and up, although it is "ideally" made for those who have 2.80. What's in it? Take a quick look here:
  • 45 Flash Games
  • 4 Flash Apps
  • 5 Flash Cartoons
  • 10+ video Downloads
  • 4 wallpaper pack downloads
  • 50+ wallpaper downloads
  • 10 RSS Channels video and audio
  • 20+ Links on Links Page
  • Credits page
Told ya this one's got cartloads of PSP treats. To install, just unzip the folder, dump it in D:PSPCOMMON to make D:PSPCOMMONPortal 117 and type file:/psp/common/portal117/portal117.htm on your PSP browser. Afterwards, the main portal page should work, and will enable you to choose from all its contents.

Of course, this isn't the last we'll see of TCLCloud's masterpiece. Even though Portal 117 v1.1 was just released (and v0.95 was just released a few days ago) it seems that an update is already in the works, as the dev plans to add demo links to zip folders (if possible), more videos wallpapers, flash games and flash apps, more content related to the next firmware release. Whew! TCLCloud is sure not showing any signs of slowing down. And that's a good thing for us, isn't it?
