PSP - Image 1Looking for a certain Sony PlayStation Portable game that's a bit more on the trippy side, in terms of gameplay and  visual style? Then look no further than Team Sushi's Resonate, an ocean-based rail shooter with very awesome Tron-like visuals and an evolutionary gameplay mechanic squeezed in. No, there's no playable build out yet, but the team has released a preview video of it - and you can check it out in the full article.

Gunnar Hero v0.20 - Image 1Gunnar Hero v0.20 - Image 2

The first time we heard about the rhythm-based homebrew game Gunnar Hero was around March of this year. It was created by HardHat and the inspiration came from, needless to say, the highly successful title Guitar Hero. We learned today that the developer joined forces with Team Sushi and came up with a new build for the Neo Spring Coding Competition 07.

Team Sushi noted that compared to the previous versions, this is one's the most stable and with a lot of additions such as keyboard re-mapping, high scores, points multipliers, and support for multiple plays per sessions. The complete changelog for this version is as follows:
  • Nicer text for list of songs (based on the filename instead of the XML)
  • Transparent menu background
  • Targa-based vid capturing
  • High scores are now saved, so beat your high score
  • Multipliers are based on whether there are active notes or active sparks.  If not, the multiplier is reset to 1.
  • Replay now reset properly, so score is not cumulative
  • Nicer sustain bars (but still no points for sustains)
  • Added intro keymap instructions
Team Sushi has some important reminders included in the Readme file like installation guide, changelogs for previous builds, and more importantly, a How To for getting songs that you will use with Gunnar Hero v0.20.
