Battle Monsters mod - SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters Clash - Image 1 Battle Monsters mod - SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters Clash - Image 2

Homebrew developer Xylkz dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a mod for titch.ryan's Battle Monsters titled SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters Clash. Just like the name implies, this iteration features SNK and Capcom characters.

Those who missed our last report on this might want to know that titch.ryan's version involved Yu-Gi-Oh monsters. Anyway, the aim of the game remains the same - you are given 20 randomly selected cards at the start of the game. All you have to do is destroy all of your opponent's cards.

You can do so by selecting the "Attack" or "Defense" stance. Here are a few other additions provided by Xylkz:
  • 79 cards of the game Cardfighters' Clash
  • New menu background
  • New game background
  • New Musics
  • New sounds
SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters Clash comes with a well-written Readme.txt file. Aside from the usual installation guide, the said documentation also includes a step-by-step process on how to create custom decks as well as ways to change the game's background images and music.

Battle Monsters from titch.ryan - Image 1

Homebrew developer titch.ryan has released Battle Monsters, a card game in the manner of Yu-Gi-Oh. Titch.ryan is also the developer who released the Balloon Pop Challenge game a few months ago. Battle Monsters offers its own deck of monster cards but you can create a deck of your own, with its own images and statistics.

The game automatically gives you and the AI a random hand of cards from the deck and choose to attack or defend. The one with the losing stats lose and the losing card will be taken from the game. The one who loses all his cards first loses. Here are the developer's notes:

Controls:
D-pad to navigate
X to select
/ to view gameboard (On your turn)

How to create custom deck / music:
  1. Create/Obtain 79 cards (format .png 96x141 pixels)
  2. Create a .txt file for every card with attack points on top line and defense points on second
  3. Name cards and text files 1-79 respectively
  4. Place cards and text files into card folder and overwrite old deck.
  5. If you want a custom background or music replace images/background.png with your own 480x272 png image or replace sfx/music.mod with your own .mod file
Users are encouraged to go through the readme file before using the game. For questions or discussions on the game, visit the source link below.

Balloon Pop Challenge v2 - Image 1

Luke Ryan, aka titch.ryan, stopped by our forums to announce the second and final release of his Balloon Pop Challenge homebrew game.

In this game, you're simply tasked with popping as many balloons as possible to exceed your highest score. According to titch.ryan, the game now has three modes (timed, original, and two-player), as well as 10 tracks of music which randomly play when you begin.

Give it a try. You may find yourself enjoying the catharsis of popping balloons. We certainly did.
