That's right, folks! It's that time of the year again when gaming is in the air, and in a place that is no less than the heart of the Land of the Rising Sun: it's the month of the Tokyo Game Show!Just recently, the organizers of this massive game expo have released the list of games and companies that will be gracing the much-awaited event. As of press time, the list of titles tallies up to 127 PC Games, 125 mobile phone games, 100 PS2 titles, 52 for the NDS, 33 for the PSP, 20 for the Xbox 360, 18 for the PS3, 5 for the Wii, 2 for the GBA, 1 for the Xbox, 1 for the GameCube, and 88 more titles for various platforms. Games that fall under the action genre are also running high this year with 129 titles, while RPGs come second with 76. All in all, up to 573 games or more will be featured in the event, so to those who will be lucky enough to make it to Tokyo, let us know how many of these you managed to try! In any case, for those who want a more detailed list (and for those who can read Japanese), we've included the .pdf files containing the exhibition schedule and booth contents. The Tokyo Game Show is a yearly major gaming event that is attended by thousands of gamers and news reporters, and is organized by Japan's Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA). It is renowned for showcasing the latest in game technology and the latest game titles, as well as for its cosplaying booth babes. There is much excitement for this year's TGS as Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 3 are expected to come out in full force prior to their release later this year. The show is expected to gather around 160,000 guests and the event will be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku and Chiba City). Download: [TGS 2006 list] |

The Tokyo Game Show is coming up and Bandai Namco has announced what titles they'll be showing at Japan's biggest gaming event! Many of their biggest franchises will be at the show so there's a bit of something for everybody. Bandai and Namco are merged, but we'll list their titles by which company is developing it.
PlayStation 3 ![]() Mobile Suit Gundam: Target in Sight (Bandai) Ridge Racer 7 (Namco) PlayStation 2 Battle Stadium D.O.N. (Bandai) .hack//G.U. Vol.2 (Bandai) Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Bandai) Captain Tsubasa (Bandai) JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: Phantom Blood (Bandai) Naruto: Konoha Spirits (Bandai) Digimon Savers: Another Mission (Bandai) Rider Kabuto (Bandai) Gundam Seed Destiny: Rengou vs Z.A.F.T. II Plus (Bandai) Tales of Destiny 2 (Namco) PlayStation Portable Gundam: Battle Royale (Bandai) Gunpey-R (Bandai) Tales of Phantasia: Full Voice Edition (Namco) Ridge Racer 2 (Namco) Bounty Hounds (Namco) Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception (Namco) Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (Namco) Nintendo DS Tamagotchi: Corner Shop 2 (Bandai) Gintama DS: Yorozuya Daisoudou (Bandai) Gunpey-R (Bandai) Tales of the Tempest (Namco) GameCube Battle Stadium D.O.N. (Bandai) Xbox 360 Culdcept Saga (Bandai) Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation: Troy (Bandai) The Idol Master (Namco) Trusty Bell (Namco) Took quite some time to get all that from Japanese into English! Bandai Namco is just churning out title after titles, especially titles with "Gundam" and "Tales of" in their names! According to this list, they aren't showing any of their Wii games. Weird considering the PS2 version of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is being shown. Guess it won't make launch after all. |

With the Tokyo Game Show getting closer and closer, another title has been confirmed to make an appearance as a playable game at the said event, and right now, we're just happy to hear that Devil May Cry 4 (DMC4) will be gracing gamers with its presence. Capcom has just announced that there will be several playable units for DMC4 at the show floor when the Playstation 3 makes its public debut in the country. The event, which will run from September 22 to 24 is expected to draw large numbers of gamers and game news reporters, so Capcom decided to put on their best face, which just so happened to be Dante's and his equally-good-looking alter ego, Nero's. In any case, other titles at the show that can be added on top of Sony's PS3 list, are the following:

Looks like there'll be a whole lotta warriors in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show with Koei's game list. And apparently, one warrior will be battling it out in a next-gen console too, as Koei has announced that Sengou Musou Wave (Samurai Warriors Wave) will be released for the Wii. However, the company did not announce any more details regarding the game and its release on the Wii. Below is the full list of games to be showcased by Koei on the TGS, with titles for various consoles including PS3, PS2, PSP, DS, and PC: |

Capcom has announced its lineup for the Tokyo Game Show, which includes mostly heavy hitting games from their major franchises. Check out the list:
PSP fans should also be happy about all the support their getting as well. Power Stone Collection especially is making former Dreamcast owners giddy with excitement. The next gen people will be getting quite a treat with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet. It seems that Capcom is making sure TGS is good for gamers. |

It is still one day before the Devil May Cry 4 shifts to high gear, but advanced buzz on the "stylish action" genre series says the game is is about to posses the PS3 and the PSP. The PSP version is expected to be closely akin to the PS2 version or even the PS2 version of the Devil May Cry 4 itself ported to the PSP. If the info is true, this would be one of the scant details about this game. Its last appearance on the face of the Earth was at the 2005 Tokyo Game Show and then pfffft! But talks on DMC4 on the PSP is pre-website launch and pre-2006 Tokyo Game Show (where title is expected to make its fiery playable debut) so anything, and we mean anything, can happen in the next 24 hours! |

After the much-hyped up introduction of the PSP camera, Sony is now ready to release it to the market. Starring in the Tokyo Game Show on September 22, the much-awaited PSP camera will finally be showcased, along with the GPS receiver unit. But the PSP camera's debut is not the only event that is being watched out for. On that same show, gamers can, for the first time, actually test the PS3 from a range of 27 titles. Games like Warhawk, Ridge Racer 7, Fatal Inertia, Heavenly Sword to mention a few are available in Sony's booth. A navigation software will also be displayed, though not much is known about it. The guess is that there will be different versions with navigation data specific to each country. The booths will have special access points where you can download the trial version of new games on a Memory Stick and later play on the PSP. |

After declining to grace Leipzig with their presence, Sony has suddenly announced that it is confirming the rumor that there will be at least 27 playable Playstation 3 titles at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which will bring the total number of games on display to 35, since games that are still in development will also be shown at the TGS.
Though the full list hasn't been revealed yet, confirmed PS3 titles that will make their appearance include: ![]()
The Tokyo Game Show will be on September 22 to 24. There's still time to book those plane tickets and make reservations. |

In the wake of E3's announced overhaul, the Games Market Europe (GME) retail game trade event has been put on hold until 2007. This year's GME was supposed to take place on September 6th-7th.A joint statement from the organizers Tandem Events and PR firm Barrington Harvey states: "As industries evolve so do the events that serve them and nothing demonstrates this more than the recent changes to E3 in the US. Whilst the Games Market Europe event format has previously proved popular in the UK, a decision has been taken to postpone this year's GME until 2007." It continues: "In doing so, it gives us the chance to review the timing and specific format to ensure we deliver a high quality event in 2007 that reflects the UK games industry’s needs." With the GME's cancellation, the UK is left without any retail or consumer games event in 2006. This is quite a ways from the heydays of the European Computer Trade Show (ECTS). In the mid 90's, the ECTS was by far the largest European games expo and was comparable to both the Tokyo Game Show and E3. Thoughts? Opinions? Leave a comment. |
