Sega Rally Revo - Image 1 Sega Rally Revo - Image 2

We have introduced two modified cars (Peugeot Super 2000 and Citroen C2 Super 1600) from Sega Rally Revo's growing garage in our previous post, now meet the other members in the modified cars list: Grande Punto Rally S2000 and Toyota Celica VVTi.

The Grande Punto Rally is getting good marks on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, and is quite competent in tackling various kinds of terrain - it's not strange to see a Grande Punto Rally in Sega Rally Revo sporting huge wheels for a road event, the switch to gravel spec wheels for the next safari event. It's that flexible. With its inherent good specs, there's nothing much on the Grande Punto that needs to be improved (it's still a prototype car), since apart from external changes such as roof mounted spoilers and front and rear bumper re-profiling, everything is fairly unchanged.

And then there's the Toyota Celica VVTi, chosen for its excellent tuning and modifications. The coupe features a fast front wheel drive that works well in road settings. As a bonus for this modified car, there is a special unlockable livery that features a certain Sega icon, probably the same as the livery 3 for the Citroen C2 as mentioned in the previous article.

Sega Rally Revo is up for release on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, and is also slated as a mobile game title. Do check out this space for more updates!

First set of cars for Need For Speed ProStreet - Image 1Electronic Arts recently gave out the the first car list for its video game Need For Speed ProStreet, and its looking pretty sweet. Each car is said to be "selected for a reason", whether because it is "unique, aspirational, memorable or highly desirable".

A big addition to the car list is the
Nissan GT-R PROTO (pictured at right). This is the first time it has ever been featured in any game. It was first revealed at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and really turned heads when it came out.

Another car that most people would probably want to take a spin in is the 2008 BMW M3. Personally, I'd still go for the 1999 Mazda RX-7, but then I've always been a Mazda fanboy. Anyway, we're sure most of you are pretty excited about the selection so here's the list.

First car list for Need For Speed ProStreet:
  • Nissan GT-R PROTO
  • 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
  • 1995 Mazda RX-7
  • 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
  • 2006 Audi S4
  • 1986 Toyota Corolla GTS AE86
  • 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer EVOLUTION IX MR-edition
  • 2006 Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • 2008 BMW M3
Need For Speed ProStreet is slated for release on the PSP, PS2, PS3, Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PC, and Mobile this year. Keep checking back for more updates on this game.

The Dew AST banner - Image 1

More evidence that consoles aren't just about overweight couch potatoes. Sony is announcing their presence for this year's upcoming Dew Action Sports Tour (aka AST Dew), via the PlayStation Experience, which is expected to be one of the tour's highlights. The PlayStation Experience will give visitors a chance to see some of the latest wares Sony has to offer for the PS3, PS2, and PSP.

Another event that's expected to make it big in the AST Dew tour is the PlayStation Trick of the Week. Here, fans select their favorite stunt/trick from the skateboard, BMX, and FMX sports categories via recorded footage, after which they're invited to vote online. This event kicks in at noon on the Monday following after each tour, and will last for an entire week. Each of the four Trick of the Week winning athletes will receive US$ 5,000. Winners for the Tour's of Trick of the Year will be awarded US$ 10,000 in cash, plus PlayStation-related loot.

Now, in case the guys here are wondering where AST Dew Tour 2007 is expected to take place, here's the list - new locations for this year include Baltimore, Cleveland, and Salt Lake City:
  • June 21 to 24: Panasonic Open (Baltimore, MD)
  • July 19 to 22: Right Guard Open (Cleveland, OH)
  • August 16 to 19: Vans Invitational (Portland, OR)
  • September 20 to 23: Toyota Challenge (Salt Lake City, UT)
  • October 18 to 21: PlayStation Pro (Orlando, FL)
As always, we advise the readership to keep posted in case this event gets updates.

Your PSP, Scionized - Image 1

Scionized. That's the term Toyota Motors seems to want to offer its hip clientele with something new on their website. Whether or not you really want a Scion, there are some nifty, Scion-styled PSP downloads for people to grab and use.

How do you get Scionized, you might wonder? Well, according to their description of the PSP pack, the installer includes "original 8-bit music, Scion wallpapers, Scion videos and our Fall 2006 Personalization magazine." After downloading the freebie, all you have to do is connect your PSP and run the installer.

Of course, there's no word on what it'll do to your PSP's custom settings, but unaltered PSPs looking for something new can always use this if they want a break. Besides, maybe one intrepid PSP modder will want to use part of this pack to enhance his own PSP theme pack. In any case, there's at least one reason to get Scionized now, isn't there?

Road and Track

This post is for all the guys out there who like to live fast: fast games, fast rides, and fast death. Nah, I'm just kidding 'bout the last one but anyway, what we're really here for today is to bring you the latest issue of Road & Track, a magazine which you can view on your PSPs and tackles everything you need to know about the upcoming hottest rides of the big two-oh-oh-seven.

I'm no expert on cars, but when I browsed through the mag and saw the cars featured in this issue, I must say they definitely are drool-worthy. But sadly, they're also oh-so-expensive, so I guess for hardcore car fanatics, having them hot rides on your PSP could be enough for that much needed autorgasm. Included in this month's issue are in-depth profiles of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and the very hawt Toyota FT-HS.

The Comparison Test portion of the mag also pits the TT Quattro and Cayman against each other to see which one's faster, and more deserving of your attention. That said, we bring you guys the January 2007 issue, which you can get right now by clicking on the link below.

Colin McRae - Image 1 Colin McRae - Image 2

World Rally Championship driver Colin McRae is no longer a stranger to gamers. A number of racing games named after him have come out already on multiple platforms. His newest exploit would be Colin McRae: DIRT, to appear this 2007 on both next gen consoles, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Unknown to all of us, he's about to zoom his way towards our PSPs!

Actually, there was a 2005 racing title that featured the said racing icon. Unfortunately though, it didn't quite pick up. This time around, developer Codemasters would like to make sure this new title is not going to eat other racing game's dirt. Some of the new features include:
  • international real-life race routes like the ones in Japan, Germany, Britain, Sweden, the United States, Finland, Australia, Spain, Greece and other 9 countries
  • 20 famous races and 300 tracks all in all
  • new car models like Toyota Celica VVTLi, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, Peugeot 206, Lancia Stratos and 30 other classic models
Also, we learned that there would be an experience mode wherein players will play as McRae himself earning credits and making better records. Most excitingly, the new game allows for multiplayers, supporting up to eight players in one time. Now, that will make things dirty! Anyway, an official title for the game has yet to be announced as it is currently deep into development.
