You're a cheater!Okay, there's always the hard way of transcribing CWCheat codes into pspSHARK ones, then there's the one-stop solution. uberOne dropped by the forums to drop in our inbox the said one-stop solution which is the CWCheat to pspSHARK cheat code converter. No hex calculators, no scratchpads, no fuss, no muss.

But it's also halfway done and requires .NET2 Framework installed (don't worry - we added the DL link for your convenience). This app will convert CWCheat codes to pspSHARK codes, and uberOne also says that the next release should add the functionality to convert in the other direction. Hey, half the battle still works, especially for pspSHARK owners. CWCheat owners, hang around for the next release, he says.

Yep, there's the hard way to get through a game, and then there's the one-stop solution. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, B, A, start. Not to mention "thereisnospoon" and "allyourbasearebelongtous".

GTA Audio Adapter

Alright, this is for all the Grand Theft Auto (Liberty City, Vice City) fanatics out there, uberOne has informed us through our forums that he has just released his GTA Audio Updater. You guys might remember uberOne from his previous awesome releases like the eChanger and the PSP Homepage Customizer.

So anyway, this one's a pretty simple application, and I'll let you guys get it straight from uberOne:

This is a pretty straight forward program. It just moves a .gta file from your computer hard drive onto the PSP into its correct folder based on which version of the game you have. I hope it helps some people out who are having some slight confusion.

There ya go. But a very important reminder though, you must have .NET Framework 2.0 installed for this app to work. So with that, we'll leave ya to do your own thing, just download the GTA Audio Updater via the link below and as uberOne says, start jamming!

eChanger

Homebrew developer, UberOne, has just informed us through our forums that he has released the real and faster FINAL version of his homebrew app -- eChanger. Just a little refresher for all those who have no idea what this is, eChanger is specifically created for those people using GTA Boot. This is a program that will allow you to change the eMenu easily in such a way that you need not restart GTA to view the changes.

And if you could recall, we earlier reported that the good developer has already released a final version of the app. Although he had earlier mentioned that he anticipates that there aren't many who'll get a chance to use it since a lot of people have just downgraded, the guy just can't leave the app alone knowing that it isn't 100% good.

He said through our forums that "I knew something was wrong in the code that made it take forever to load. I have since fixed this problem though and now everything is instant. I would like to add that i promise this will be the last version seeing as there is nothing else i can do." He again mentioned that "there is not much need of this in the homebrew scene anymore due to the fact of downgraders. But some people do choose not to downgrade and some have TA-082 motherboards."

So with that, here is the final version of the eChanger which, according to the dev himself, won't take forever to load. We here at QJ are thankful to guys like UberOne for sharing their knowledge and expertise to the gaming community, and we won't be surprised if the guy comes out with a new and awesome app in the future. Also, don't forget to hook us up with your constructive opinions, suggestions, criticisms and other what-nots in our comments section.

PSP Homepage Customizer

uberOne from our forums (thanks for the tip) has updated his PSP Homepage Customizer to version 1.5 today for all those who use the PSPs integrated firmware browser. This program requires Windows to run, but can create a personalized homepage for your PSP web browser. To use this program, first enter the drive letter of your PSP using the drop down box. Then you enter the site title, followed by the URL. By Clicking "Add Link" the program will add the link to an index.htm. Then all you have to do is set your homepage to file:/home.html and you're all set with a customized homepage.

This program has grown in leaps and bounds since the last release, with the addition of many bug fixes and the ability to add a background color. As with everything, there's a downside to this new and improved version: no Easter egg. Anyway, the addition of colour support is good for those that don't know any from of HTML code to spruce up their homepage a bit. To add a background color, input a color in the form of RGB code or the raw color code into the background color field. A list of RGB colors can be found here, with raw color codes here.

This release may seem like the be-all and end-all of new PSP Homepage Customizer versions with color support and link addition, but uberOne still has plans for this funky little application. Features on uberOne's to do list include:
  • Colored text links (most likely in the next version)
  • Ability to have a background picture
  • Will detect links from last input and not delete them every time program is used
You will need Windows and the .NET framework v2 installed, but other than that you can use this in collaboration with any PSP firmware that has a web browser - even emulated DevHook firmwares!

Homepage customizer

Uber0ne from our forums has released v1.0 of his PSP Homepage Customizer program for the PC.

This application is small and nifty with an easy to use GUI. It isn't a masterpiece, neither is it a 2.7 downgrader; but It's a very useful application if you use your PSP web browser often and don't have basic HTML knowledge. Also, Uber0ne is continuing to develop this, hoping to add colored links (not just the plain blue), background color support and background picture support for the next release. Also, an Easter egg has been included in this version - see if you can find it!

Note: Microsoft .Net framework v2.0 must be installed in order to run this.

eChangerFor those using the GTA boot, here's a program that will allow you to change the eMenu easily and without having to restart GTA to view the changes - UberOne's eChanger. Since this is already beta v0.2, I'm sure those who've encountered v0.1 will want to know what's new with this release.

UberOne admits that he hurried the first release and that it - to borrow his own word - "sucked". To redeem himself, he's coming up with a "highly improved version". Starting v0.2's code from ground zero, his latest release now has an improved interface and will allow you to preview eMenus in full screen. Separate files need not be made for previews.

Users of v0.1 will be happy to know that the new version no longer has that annoying flickering of the screen. Also, you no longer have to worry about overwriting eMenus as a selected eMenu will only swap with the one currently in use.

To use eChanger just follow these simple instructions:
  1. Extract eChanger into the "Game" directory of your PSP.
  2. Go to file PSPeLoader.
  3. Add your images in the folder and name them accordingly: emenu1.png, emenu2.png, emenu3.png, and so on and so forth. You can put a maximum of 10 images in the folder.
  4. Use the 'up' and 'down' buttons to scroll through the list of eMenus then press 'X' to select the eMenu you'd like to use.
  5. Go to exit and there you have your choice eMenu.
If you've been burned by the first release, give eChanger a second chance because UberOne does reiterate that "This one is truly better I promise". Thanks UberOne for sharing this amazing app to us!

PSPUberOne has just provided for us his own eMenu changer for the eloader (an app that allows users to enjoy homebrew software on any PSP with any firmware versions - just in case someone didn't know).

For people who use the GTA boot, it's going to be easier to change skin without having to restart the game. Unfortunately though, it's still very hard to customize this at the moment as improvements still has to be made. The developer of this app has promised many improvements for the upcoming versions of his eMenu Custom Skins Changer as this is just the first beta version. Expect more changes and updates in the coming days.
