Homebrew developer JumpR dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a patch for version 1.8 of PSP Content Manager. The said program was originally coded by UFox. The patch should make the program compatible with the newest custom firmwares 3.52 M33, 3.60 M33 as well as 3.71 M33. PSP Content Manager allows users to manage and preview the different content of their Sony handheld on the PC. The patch itself contains three .REG files for each custom firmware. All you have to do is run it, select "Yes" and then you're done. You can remove the patch once you've already applied it. JumpR also added that for this patch to work, you will have to run PSP Content Manager v1.8 first before applying it to the program. Once applied, it will slightly modify PSP Content Manager's settings in the registry. Download: PSP Content Manager v1.8 Patch Visit: QJ PSP Development Forum |

Homebrew developer UFox dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new version of nifty program PSP Content Manager bringing it up to version 1.8. For the uninitiated, take note that this is actually a PC-based application that lets users preview and manage the content of their handheld units.
PSP Content Manager is capable of accessing content that are stored on your PSP's memory stick, as well as those found in the PC hard drive with a same folder structure used on the memory stick. Some of the program's features include file management, item sort, homebrew edit/installation, MP4 title modifying, MP3/WMA/ATRAC tag edit, as well as build-in RSS server. Here are the following changes and improvements that can be noticed in PSP Content Manager v1.8:

You all probably know how hard it is to manage all of the PSP's content, especially when you're loading up on homebrew games and applications. Now, UFox's PSP Content Manager v1.6 makes your job a little bit easier as it allows users to preview and manage content stored on memory stick or on PC's hard disk with same folder structure used on the said memory stick. Also, the program features file management, item sorting, homebrew editing/installation, MP4 title modifications, and MP3/WMA/ATRAC tag editing among others. If you've been using an older version of the program, then there have been quite a few significant changes from the last build. Here they are:

Ever since Team M33 released its own Custom Firmware for FW3.51 PSPs, it's been rather interesting at the QJ offices. PSP fans sent us tons of tips, and at the same time, we've also been getting tips of newly compatible programs meant for the new CFW. In this case, Dodswm sent us a tip about something he did to UFox's PSP Content Manager v1.5 He's made it compatible for use with Team M33's new firmware, allowing people to use this trusted application with the new firmware that's going around the homebrew scene these days. For those who haven't heard of it though, UFox's PSP Content Manager is an application that allows you to sort the contents of your PSP. It'll let you rearrange the order of your movies, music, and homebrew, as well as any other files you happen to have lying around on your PSP. Feel free to try the application. Just remember to check the readme before using the app. Enjoy! Download: PSP Content Manager 1.5 for 3.51 M33 |

Now, right after PSP aficionados had a field day, thanks to Dark_AleX's latest custom firmware release, homebrew devs are up and about once again with various useful add-ons and applications for the PSP. One such application is something from chachakoala, who revised UFOX's original PSP Content Manager v1.5 so that it can run more smoothly on the latest OE firmwares. For those who may not be familiar with PSP Content Manager, this app allows one to easily manage and transfer the content of their PSPs so that everything is more organized. On top of that, it also helps to recover homebrews, and even edit your homebrew icons and backgrounds. As for what prompted the edits, according to chachakoala, I hex-edited psp content manager 1.5 so it works even more correctly with 3.03&310 OE firmwares (original PSP Content manager used to work fine anyway). I did this because i classified my PSX games in GAME, my 1.5 hb in Game150 and my 3.10 hb (PSPFTPD) in Game310 just to keep things clear. Meanwhile, he notes the two revisions that he made for PSP Content Manager:
So, if you're ready to start using this application, then just download it via the link provided below. The pack will contain versions of PCM for firmwares 3.02, 3.03, 3.10, 3.30, and 3.40 OE. As always, remember to check the readme file right after you finish downloading, and right before you start installing. A big thank you to "whoelse" for the tip! We just had the release of PSP Content Manager v1.5 by uFox earlier today for Windows users. Here comes another PSP homebrew organizer, this time for Mac users. Thanks to the release of Team S.F.I's Mac Content Manager Beta, you no longer have to install all your homebrew manually using your Mac OSX operating system. This content manager manages your homebrew games and applications, and it also includes an option to install Dark_Alex's amazing 2.71 SE-B firmware! Here's the changelog: Current features

There are things that just keep getting better with time, right? Take wine for example, it certainly becomes better and sweeter as years go by. We guess the same can be applied to homebrew developers. The last version of PSP Content Manager is already two months old, and as we are all aware of, a lot of things have happened in that short span of time. UFox comes out today with a new version that make us want to get drunk indeed. Probably the biggest change done to PSP Content Manager v1.5 is that, it supports the 2.71 SE custom firmware. Also, the handy content management software can now load and preview ISO Files in RAR archives. The tab buttons can now be dragged and dropped, while the bug concerning PMP framerate and length calculation was fixed. Are you drunk with info and changes now? Try to hold your drink because there are a few more. Anyway, another important change to the application could be seen on the parental control level of homebrews and ISOs. Accordingly, ISOs can now be edited in ISO preview window and the parental control level can now be edited in edit window for homebrews. This release certainly is exciting and needless to say, useful. While we have enumerated the changes for you, don't just immediately install the application to your handhelds, especially if you are quite new with the scene. As we have always said, the readme files are there for a good reason. Cheers to UFox! Download: [PSP Content Manager v1.5] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |
