PRX Manager - Image 1There were probably a bunch of satisfied people who found themselves using WeeJeWel's wonderful application called PRX Manager. Well, WeeJeWel has released PRX Manager v1.5, adding some extras into the mix for faithful users of his program.

For those who haven't heard of it, PRX Manager is an application that automatically copies PRX files you open. If there's a PRX game file, for instance, that you want to install, you can simply double click the file and PRX Manager will automatically give you a quick list of areas to copy the file in.

PRX Manager has a couple of extra features. Namely, these would be the automatic PSP detection and the ability to install to VSH, GAME, and POPS folders all at once. Give it a try, and don't forget to check the readme while you're at it, just to be on the safe side. Enjoy!

Yet Another PSP Toolkit v1.5 screenshot - Image 1PSP homebrew coder WeeJeWel (aka VirusEXE) just dropped by the QJ.NET Forums to let everybody know that Yet Another PSP Toolkit (YAPT) has been updated to version 1.5. In case you're wondering what this homebrew application does, YAPT is a PC-based multi-role toolkit that allows for extensive customization of your PSP.

This application allows users to pull off tasks such as ISO compression, PSX compression (with full XMB preview), and XMB customization (e.g. custom icons and stuff). As for the application's latest changelog:
  • Popstrip added - Decompress PSX eboots
  • Theme swapper added, 3 styles available
  • YAPT is movable! I finally managed to add alpha transparency!
  • Added huge text for 3.10OE users that the custom icons won't work (now don't complain about that..)
  • Save/Open dialogs added to font/topmenu outputs
  • keys.bin didn't copy well to the output directory. It's fixed now.
  • New song on the about page!
  • It recognizes PRX files, so PRX Manager isn't needed anymore
  • Plugins page had a huge makeover. You can copy files, install, or just one of them etc
  • Form is a bit transparent if you move/deactivate it
  • Many bugfixes, slight changes etc that are not important to list here
  • Added a small Easter egg if you have time enough or a decompiler ;-)
  • And even more, but I forgot that because it was a while ago :P
The application proper is in the bundle below you - double click the extracted file to begin installing YAPT to your PC. There's also this homebrew application's release thread over at the QJ.NET Forums, which should be your next destination in case you're looking for further details. Enjoy the download, and don't forget to thank WeeJeWel for the heads-up.

PRX Manager by WeeJeWel - Image 1Homebrew developer WeeJeWel (aka VirusEXE in the QJ forums) is mostly known for the application Yet Another PSP Toolkit 1.0.  Now, we received a note from the coder about another program that is nothing short of excellent and helpful.

In a nut shell, PRX Manager 1.0 is an application that automatically copies all opened PRX files (plugins for custom firmwares 2.71 SE to 3.10 OE). And in case you're wondering how automatic this one gets, a pop-up message appears every time you open a PRX file.

The message will then ask you where you want to install the file and on what drive. And you're done! Also, it is worth mentioning that WeeJeWel's application automatically install itself you won't have to bother with Windows extension hoopla.

Want your PC to have more say in your PSP action? Brew developer WeeJeWel (aka VirusEXE in the QJ boards) has just released Yet Another PSP Toolkit (YAPT) v1.0 for your consumption. This PC-based application features some of the more common tools you guys may have used to customize your PSP, only that they are now available in one package. Here are some of the more important features you may want to take note of:
  • ISO compressing
  • PSX compressing with full XMB preview
  • XMB customization (e.g. custom icons and stuff)
  • Custom plugins (PRX) manager
  • Some cool windows tweaks (eg right click convert)
  • USBhost redirection with keypad
  • NEThost redirection with keypad
  • Registry backup/restore tool
There are more goodies available in the app - just try it out and see what happens. To get the file running, unload the bundle and double-click the app inside. As the screenshot implies, the Windows Vista GUI works on all Windows versions. Make sure to keep updated in case VirusEXE decides to update this into something even better. We thank the dude for this attempt, and suggest the guys here check out the other PC-based apps that could complement this brew.
