PSP/PS3 HD drive - Image 1Dvineo presented an intriguing accessory for the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Sony PlayStation Portable: An HD movie player! The drive has a wide range of compatible formats whether they be video, audio, images and game saves. You can get digital media from non-write protected discs, convert them to desired formats and store them to the PS3 hard drive or the PSP SD stick.

In terms of videos it can read MKV, Xvid, DivX, MPEG 1, M1P, MPEG 2, TS, M2P, WMV, ASF, MP4 and AVI. The interface lets you manage and back up files when you attach the drive to a PC. If you're into music, it can read CDs, iTunes and other popular formats. You can convert WAV files to MP3 with automatic completion of track details via the online server's help. What's more, management is as easy as dragging and dropping the data.

With the Xploder software, images can be viewed in a gallery as thumbnails on your PSP and PS3. Again, dragging and dropping is the operative term. The same is true about managing game saves that you saved for games.

The HD drive has a lot more to offer than just this. The tech savvy among you will find pleasure in the details entailed in the Dvineo fact sheet. If you want to learn more about it, follow the read URL and tell us what you think.

CW CheatA week after CWCheat 0.1.6 REV.B was released for 2.71SE, here comes another update, this time, for DevHook version 0.50. It sure seems like we're not running out of things to do in the homebrew scene, huh? That's healthy.

Working under DevHook, this prx can cheat every devhook-compatible game under firmware emulation. It also works throughout raw-relative cheat codes such as action replay, codebreaker, gameshark, xploder, etc. Apart from this, it supports other functions useful for cheat finder and normal users, like battery, cpu/bus clock, devhook version, ms free/total space information.

Now, this is just a quick fix. Also, keep in mind that you need the database and language files, which are in the main package.

Anyway, here's the changelog:
  • No more screen flickering and real time update of data in the main menu
  • fixed that graphic glitch appearing when putting out and in the ms
  • cleaned up the menus of useless clear screen and print calls
  • added support for 8bit and 16bit multiadress write
  • string optimizations
  • support to select search intervals in the fixed value and diff search
  • now swap buttons option is saved and loaded
But there's more to that. If you wanna check out the complete and comprehensive changelog, just head on to the source link below. Also, you could also read the readme file that comes with the download. In the meantime, you can download the file right here.

CWCheat

So you're in the third playthrough of some random game. You check your stats, your ammo and your enemy. You duck to avoid an incoming projectile, and just when you're about to aim, your opponent lunges at you, sending your character to its imminent death: for the fifth time.

Now, I'm all for challenging games and all, but sometimes games can be so difficult, it's frustrating. After all, you just want to see what happens in the end, but you can't even go to the second level because of some boss that's making you repeat the first phase because he keeps killing you (okay, I can be a total newbie sometimes, but that's another story...).

So for people like me, weltall's homebrew app, CWCheat is a godsend. The name pretty much speaks for itself, but if you want the word by word description from the readme, here it is:

This is a prx which works under devhook and can cheat every devhook-compatible game under firmware emulation. This works through raw-relative cheat codes like action replay, codebreaker, gameshark, xploder, etc. Other than this, it has support to other function which are useful for cheat finder and normal users (like battery, cpu/bus clock, devhook version, ms free/total space information).

We got the latest version here, which was bumped up to v0.1.6. It also includes the latest version of screenshotbmp.prx, so better check that out as well. Anyway, the changelog's a bit long, and includes new cheat search functions and screenshot support among others.

CWCheat v1.3

The developers over at Consoleworld have released a new version of their CWCheat Cheat Device System for you to use in co-operation with your DevHook. This cheat system currently works with 112 games and has a total of 1665 cheats in its database. If the game you're using DevHook to play is too difficult, the CWCheat Universal Cheat Device is a prx that works when you emulate a firmware for DevHook.

Also, if you're not a cheater, CWCheat has has support for other functions as well such as  battery, cpu/bus clock, devhook version, ms free/ and total space information. This works through raw-relative cheat codes just like action replay, codebreaker, gameshark, xploder etc - except this is free. This latest release even allows you to automatically download new versions of the CWCheat database from  your PSP using Wi-Fi!  The download comes in an easy-to-install package as well as well as a very detailed instruction manual which covers everything from installation to using the Cheat device.

The in-game menu isn't the prettiest of things but it does the job perfectly. The download even includes a PC program which allows you to search for cheats in the database and copy them to your CWCheat installation. Everything has been thought of in the making of this program - you will not be disappointed!

CWCheat

Allow us to use a little simile here; weltall's homebrew application, CWCheat, could be likened to a bottle of good wine - it just gets better with age. In case you just have no idea what this app is, CWCheat is the first general purpose cheat device for devhook. weltall claims that it can cheat every devhook-compatible game under firmware emulation.

According to him, this works through raw-relative cheat codes like action replay, codebreaker, gameshark, xploder, etc. Other than those mentioned, it has support for other function which are useful for cheat finder and normal users.

Before using this app, it wouldn't hurt if you would read first the readme.txt (which comes in English and Italian) and the provided manuals, although the manuals weren't updated, it still is a big help. If you have suggestions, opinions and other what-nots, please do share them in the comments section. For now, here is the changelog.

[CORE PRX]

-now cheats are applied every 1/10000 sec (before was second*cheat delay)
-cheat delay is now control delay which mean how much seconds to wait  before checking the keys combinations
-now priority is 0x64, before was 0x1 (this means less priority)
-now when entering the cheat selection it waits for the X buttons to be released (this caused the always Y first cheat when entering the menu)
-now the buttons which are keep pressed will be repeated also in the main menu
-now usb autostart is correctly handled and usb is enabled when the prx is loaded
-corrected some graphic glitchs on the bottom of the screen of the main menu
-cheat DB format update: now the db can store also the enabled/disabled status of every cheat so it will automatically enable the cheats you choose. Now the old database format is deprecated: it still works but the support for it will be dropped on the next version. The new format changes only the _C (Cheat) entry now it's _C# where # is a 1 (enabled) or a 0 (disabled). If another number is found the cheat
will be disabled, if a space is found (only this version) the cheat will  be read as an old format cheat. To update your DB just replace the _C with _C0 (or _C1)
-now it's possible to edit on the go directly from the cwcheat menu the value field of a code.
-now the 32bit multi write code works correctly also if the adress isn't a power of 4. So condensed codes which didn't work before will work fine
-Now it's available a cheat search function from the game
-The cheat search function supports 8/16/32bit fixed value search
-Found adresses in the cheat search function are written to progressive file (pass0.txt, pass1.txt, etc.)
-You can return to game and then continue your search for codes.
-The resume fixed value search function shows the first 10 adresses found in the precedent search with the value of these adresses in hexadecimal and decimal format (usefull to avoid another search when  you have only a little number of adresses)
-some optimizations here and there

[INSTALLER]

-changed the restore icon to a restore/update icon to avoid mistakes
