Yongobongo has released what could very well be the last version of yPaint. According to the developer, those who downloaded the patch or the older version should switch to this one instead. Both the patch and the older version won't work, but this one will. Anyway, the one big thing included in this version of yPaint Anniversary Edition is that it now works with custom firmwares as well as firmware 1.50. Again, make sure to download this version so you can proceed with doodling to your heart's content. Yongobongo also mentioned that the source code for yPaint may be released soon as this will probably be the last release of this particular homebrew application. If you've got any questions, click on the Visit link below to discuss yPaint on our PSP Development Forums. Thanks to borgqueenx for the tip! Here's an application that's bound to make graphics fans smile. Yongobongo recently released the latest version of his PSP image editing application known as yPaint. Now known as yPaint Anniversary Edition, the application seems to have had a lot of big changes, most notable of which is the ability to edit your configuration settings to tweak almost any variable in yPaint. The full list of current features can be found below:
Feel free to check out the readme for additional instructions on installing and using the different functions of yPaint, and don't hesitate to vote for yPaint in this year's NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition if you like yongobongo's work, alright? Yongobongo is back with another iteration of his yPaint image editing application for PSP, which is now on version 5.00 Beta. He's added a lot of things to this one, so people using the previous version may want to try it out:
Lastly, he's also put up a contest for people to win more QJ Points on our forums. His call for excellent photoshoppery writes, "Also, i am offering 200,000 QJ forum points for the best yPaint theme! It can be anything, even based off Paint or Photoshop or something." All you have to do is visit the forum link below and post a screenshot of your theme to join. Enjoy the app, and don't forget to check the readme, alright?! Download: yPaint v5.00 Beta Visit: PSP Development Forums |

Yongobongo, the genius behind yPaint, just released his own file browser/manager for the PSP, and it's called browsR. This one's v0.1, but man, it's packed with features! Not only can you go all out on being obsessive-compulsive about organizing files in your PSP, you can also play music too, while you're at it. Check out the following formats this baby can play:

yPaint, according to the dev, is an all-in-one image editor which would allow you to save and open images for editing. It features a full color selection tool, line lengths, and an in-development GUI. Now that the trip down memory lane is over and your memories are refreshed, let's jump to the new features of yPaint v4b. New Features

If you've had enough of using MS Paint on your PC using a mouse and keyboard then why not try the latest version of Yongobongo's yPaint "all in one" image editor for the PC, and try creating your own masterpieces using the PSP's analog stick. yPaint certainly looks good when you compare v4 to version 2 which we featured just 2 weeks ago and you'll certainly be impressed.
If you aren't the type of person that gets wowed by graphics, then you should check out what has been added in this version (text taken from the release description):

So you're probably familiar with Yongobongo's nifty "all in one" image editor, yPaint. Yep, that's the one that has a Macromedia Fireworks interface, as opposed to the "more normal" MS Paint look. Looks great, eh? Anyway, if you're not familiar with it, allow me to backtrack a little. Basically, Yongobongo's yPaint is an image editor for the PSP that allows you to edit or make cool doodles in your PSP. According to the dev, "it comes with a full colour selection tool, Line Lengths, a GUI (needs to be improved)" and image saving capabilities. This should work for those who have firmware 1.50-2.71, but he promises that a "1.00/eLoader EBOOT should be up soon". Guess we better keep our eyes peeled out for updates, then. The dev says to be on the lookout for bugs (after all, this isn't the final version yet, so be nice people). Plans for battery life display and additional functions are underway, so that' something to look forward to, right? In the meantime, check out the latest version here and do stay tuned here at QJ for more updates. Download: [yPaint v0.3] Discuss: [Forum Release Thread] |

If you like to mess around with paint-like programs while on the move, just to show off your artistic abilities with your PSPs analog stick, then I have something for you today. yongobongo has releases his Lua drawing application for the PSP called yPaint v2, allowing you to rival Picasso on the move with your PSP. Unlike most drawing applications for the PSP, this one has not been modelled based on the basic Microsoft Paint look. Instead, yongobongo has decided to make this application in the style of Macromedia Fireworks. yPaint v2 has been described as an all-in-one image editor, allowing you to both save and open images for editing, as well as featuring a full colour selection tool, Line Lengths, and an in-development Graphical User Interface which yongobongo says needs to be improved. Overall, this application works quite well once you get the hang of it, although a bit of work does still need to be done in perfecting the color palette, which can be a little tricky when you want a specific color. Other than that, this application is very promising. Thanks for the tip Fuzzie360! Download: [yPaint v2] View: [Forum release thread] |
